A real story of transformation, strength, and self-love.
For 20 years, I lived in a body that weighed between 300 and 350 pounds. I am a mother of three, and as of February, a proud grandmother. Life was physically and emotionally challenging for a long time. Much of my family has also struggled with weight much of their lives, so I decided that it was time for a change.

Struggling with health
Two years ago, I made the choice to change. Through a consistent calorie deficit and exercising three times a week for 1.5 hours to two hours, I started seeing real progress. I also walked often — to the store, the gas station, and anywhere that didn't truly require a car. Swimming became one of my favorite activities at the local gym.
Today, I weigh 180 pounds. That's a total loss of 170 pounds — and I feel amazing. I can do things I never imagined:
✔️ Climb stairs without struggling
✔️ Ride rollercoasters at amusement parks
✔️ Ride horses
✔️ Shop at trendy clothing stores
✔️ Fit comfortably in theater, airplane, or stadium seats
✔️ Go hiking or on nature trails with friends or family
✔️ Chase after kids or grandkids without feeling out of breath
✔️ Take fitness or dance classes without feeling out of place
✔️ Feel more confident in social settings or photos
✔️ Try fun activities like ziplining, kayaking, or paddleboarding
✔️ Sleep better and wake up with more energy
✔️ Enjoy shopping for new outfits and dressing up again
✔️ And most of all — enjoy life in ways I never could before
One of my new joys is aerial yoga — something I never thought I'd be able to try. Now, I love it.
Weight loss isn't just about the number on the scale — it's a full transformation of mind, body, and soul. For me, this journey was about reclaiming my life, one small step at a time. I used to feel trapped in my body, missing out on experiences, staying in the background. But through this process, I've learned that strength is built in the quiet moments: choosing to show up, making the healthier choice, or simply being patient with yourself after a setback.
It's not about being perfect. It's about being persistent. The key is to start small, stay consistent, and most importantly — speak to yourself with love, not shame. There were days when I wanted to give up, but I reminded myself of my “why.” I wanted to live fully. I wanted to be active with my children. I wanted to feel confident and free.
Now, I'm doing things I never dreamed I could do, and I'm still growing every day. If you're reading this and wondering if it's possible for you too — it is. You are capable. You are worthy. And this journey is so worth it.
